From a life marked by excess, to one exemplified by abstinence, and peace of mind, D. Irene has come to the West Coast of America to live out her life.

In 1994, before her birthday, D. Irene left the state of her birth for a new and strange land.  She was 47 when she arrived and 48 shortly after.  The years are important because the smiling face you see in her photograph didn't happen right away.

Right away she lived with her sister for three months.  Then she lived in El Cajon for the better part of two years.  Commuting to an alano club daily and staying at that alano club from opening to closing every day.

Finally, she found her happiness.  The owner of the second smiling face in the photograph got her an apartment next to his and life was complete.

It was not without bumps however, and D. Irene had to go through one more bad marriage before she realized she was really a lesbian.
